KIDS CAMPS

The focus is on fun, skill development and quality instruction. Camps are a great way to introduce your children to skiing and snowboarding. Our friendly and professional instructors design the camps to build confidence and set your children up for a lifetime of fun!  

Whether your children have never, ever put on a pair of skis or strapped on a snowboard, OR they are little skiwis or shredders OR they are ready to explore and discover more runs, the team at Vista Ridge Snow School is ready to help take your kid's skills to the next level.

CAMP PROGRAMS

Snowbird

For our youngest skiers, Snowbird lessons offer a smaller group size with dedicated instructors and a focus on having fun!   This is a 1 hour lesson with a goal to be at least 45 minutes on snow.  Riders will be evaluated and placed in a group with others who have similar abilities.

10:00-11:00am OR 11:00-12:00

Snowbird - ages 3.5-5 year olds

Snowbird: Season Passholder: $99, Non-passholder $119

Rental Equipment: $10/session; $30/camp

Skiwi or Little Shredder:  Level 1 or Level 2

In this 1.5 hour lesson, instructors will help campers to discover the sport in a safe & fun environment.  We will teach your child a love of skiing and snowboarding while guiding them to a level where they can safely ride all the lifts and green runs.  

Level 1

  • I have NEVER EVER been on skis or a snowboard OR only skied/snowboarded once or twice. 

  • Can’t stop or turn yet and will be learning to use the conveyor belt.

Level 2

  • I can stop in a controlled pizza stop and can use conveyor lifts.  

  • Learning to turn, learning to ski green terrain and learning to ride a chairlift.

Skiwi - ages 5-12

Little Shredder - ages 7-12

Skiwi/Little Shredder:  Season Passholder $109, Non-passholder $129

Explore & Discover: Level 3 or Level 4

This program is for students who can already ride green terrain in control and get on the chairlift on their own. 

Level 3

  • I can ski/snowboard on green runs in control. Will be starting to use blue terrain in control.

  • I can ride a chairlift on my own. 

Level 4

  • I am comfortable and controlled on green and blue runs and starting blacks.

  • I can ride a chairlift on my own.

1:30pm-3:00pm

Ages

Skiers - ages 6-12

Snowboarders - ages 7-12

Explore & Discover: Season Passholder $119, Non-passholder $139

CAMP CALENDAR

CAMP REGISTRATION

  • This season there will be 3 separate Camp Registration days. The Camp Registration Form will go live on our website on the following dates at 9:00am.   

    • November 1 at 9am - Registration opens for Camps A, B, C

    • December 18 at 9am - Registration opens for Camp D & E

    • February 5 at 9am - Registration opens for Camp F, G, H

  • Once Vista Ridge receives the Camp Registration forms, staff will begin to contact you to complete the registration process.  Completing the Camp Registration form does not guarantee a spot in the camp.  

  • All camps must be registered and paid for in full a minimum of 2 days prior to the first day of camp.

  • When completing registration by phone, please have a credit card on hand to be used for payment.   

  • When completing registration in person at the Guest Services Office, we accept cash, credit card or debit. 

  • All prices are plus GST.

  • You will receive a confirmation email from Vista Ridge with camp details for your child/children once payment is received. The email will include dates and times your child is registered as well as your receipt. Please review the email to make sure we have all the correct information and contact us right away if there are any changes that need to be made. 

  • Camp availability is subject to minimum and maximum numbers.

Rentals

  • If your child requires rentals you must have them fitted for rental equipment prior to the first day of camp.

  • Rentals: $30/camp plus GST

Camp Days

  • Parents must check if classes are going ahead each day. If the weather is cold, check our social media or website on the morning of camp days to make sure camps are running that day.  

  • All lesson participants must check in at the Snow School desk in the Spruce Valley Room on each day of the camp. Please have your skiers and snowboarders geared up and on snow at least 5 minutes before the start of the lesson. Late arrivals may be denied access to class.

  • Camps include a lift ticket valid for the day. Campers can ski or snowboard before and after the lesson, should they choose to.

Refund Policy

  • Snow School Camps are refundable if cancelled 14 days prior to day 1 of  the camp or lesson. Participants who cannot continue due to illness or  injury supported by a doctor’s note, may be issued a refund or credited  the pro-rated value of the remaining lesson(s). Credits may be considered once written notice and supporting documents are submitted to Guest  Services. Credits are pro-rated to the date pass/lesson pass are returned.

  • Cancellation of Private Lessons: 24 hours notice is required or the credit card on file will be charged 50% the cost of the lesson.

  • Please note:

  • Refunds will only be issued for classes cancelled by Vista Ridge that Vista Ridge is unable to reschedule.

  • No show reservations will not be refunded.

  • All refunds are subject to a $25.00 administration fee.

  • Please note that all refunds must be requested in writing.  Email requests to info@vistaridge.ab.ca or bring a letter to Vista Ridge Guest Services.
